Pass the Peninsula Transit Study!

The Vote is TODAY!

Pass the Peninsula Transit Study!

Nearly a generation ago, our City began to realize that our transportation infrastructure was incredibly dependent on Single Occupancy Vehicles (SOV's) for local transit. In 1993, a transportation report entitled "A Time for Change" emphasized community, livability, and connectivity for all residents.

Since then, the report has evolved, and become the Peninsula Transit Study (PTS). The Transit Study is a responsible, logical, and forward-looking set of policies, and is going to be voted on by the City Council TODAY.

We're asking you to call your City Councilor to make it clear: Pass the Peninsula Transit Study!

A Script for you to Follow:

"Hello, is this _________? Hi, my name is __________, and I live on ______ street. I'm calling in support of the Peninsula Transit Study. Will you be voting to pass it tonight?"

If YES: "That's wonderful. Thanks for supporting these important policies!"

If NO: "I really believe passing the Transit Study is a way to bring Portland into the 21st Century when it comes to transportation. By implementing this responsible, logical, and forward looking set of policies, Portland stands to join cities across the nation that are reaping the benefits of developing a balanced and sustainable transportation system."

Once you've made the call, go and represent! The Peninsula Transit Study Vote will be happening in Council Chambers at City Hall, starting at 7 p.m., August 3. Today!

Help pass the Peninsula Transit Study!
