The movie is a depiction of the genocide in Darfur. It's done like a documentary. Documentary usually canotes boring in people's minds, but this movie is far from boring. Everything about the movie is real including the main character. Real story, real pictures, real emotion.

An ex-Marine looking for international job signs on in Africa to observe a ceasefire in Sudan. He winds up documenting a genocide in Darfur. The movie presents the story of Darfur and this man's struggle to do something about genocide. There is extreme political opposition, but eventually Bush pays lip service and declares the situation a genocide. The political pressures mount and still the U.N. doesn't move...

The movie is about two years old: so the object of the movie is to move people to learn more. Alex, a student from our group, is putting together a presentation to catch people up to the current facts and the political implications surrounding the issue. She'll identify, for instance, how China and the 2008 Olympics are connected. We'll also talk about U.N. intervention/lack thereof and official versus group commentary. She's still wrangling a speaker for the event. So as of now the Speaker is TBA. The W.M.P.G. show is also TBA. We're still working out the details.
