From the Gulf of Maine Research Institute:
Joe Romm is the author of several books about climate change and clean energy solutions, including Hell and High Water and Cool Companies, and is the editor of the most widely read climate blog in the country.
Joe sits at the
center of the national debate about the science of climate change, and the
policy solutions. A physicist, Joe
is an expert on renewable energy and energy efficiency, and he has tracked the
coal and fossil fuel sector as they have tried to block legislation aimed at
reducing our dependence on fossil fuels.
This is a unique opportunity to meet and hear from a great speaker, and socialize with others who are working to promote a clean energy future for Maine. Please join us for a reception from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., with the presentation to follow at 7:00 p.m. The Gulf of Maine Research Institute is located at 350 Commercial Street in Portland.
The event is free and open to the public.
This event is one of 50 events to celebrate NRCM’s 50 years protecting the nature of Maine. I hope you can join us in Portland on the 18th.
If you have questions about this event, please contact Leisa Dennett at leisa@nrcm.org or (207) 430-0111.

In March 2009, Rolling Stone also named him one of "The 100 People Who Are Changing America" calling him "America's fiercest climate-change blogger."
