Big Local 2008

The Youth Vote is happening

How do global and national issues play out in local settings?

What can you do locally to affect politics as we know it?

Welcome to BIG LOCAL 2008, coming to a college campus near you.

Young voter turnout QUADRUPLED on Super-Tuesday

Pennsylvania poised to be The Decider in April!

We ask:  WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

As you know, 2008 is the year that young and first-time voters are expected to carry the weight of deciding our nation's presidential election.  Pennsylvania is poised to make a big difference in this presidential election, and it's time to PUSH THE LIMIT in PA on April 22nd by preparing, training, and organizing to make the youth vote be the difference here, too.  You can do it.

It's called BIG LOCAL 2008, and it's starting here in Pittsburgh,

BIgLocal001

connecting campuses and students all over PA to build a lasting movement for change.

It's coordinating campuses, communities, and organizations to increase voter turnout and participation.  It's an educational campaign for YOU, the critical mass of young voters, to maximize 2008 energy and take it into 2009 and beyond.

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED:

  • Email biglocal2008@theleague.com or call 412-362-7927
  • Request a training to register other new voters
  • Partner with Big Local through your student or community organization
  • Volunteer with us on Election Day!

Ready?  Start by coming to the Student Power Rules training Feb 10th!

Big Local is brought to you by the Generational Alliance, Rock the Vote, and our sister organization the PA League of Young Voters Education Fund.
